Anne Hathaway became an unexpected highlight of Super Bowl 2025, with her enthusiastic celebration of the Philadelphia Eagles’ dramatic victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Les Misérables star, 42, attended the NFL’s biggest event at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, where she was caught on camera cheering and dancing as the Eagles secured their win.
Dressed in a white button-down tank top with a bright green sweater draped over her shoulders, Hathaway passionately supported the Philadelphia-based team, whose win ended the Chiefs’ hopes of a historic threepeat. Her animated reactions quickly became a social media sensation, with fans flooding X with admiration and amusement.

“Anne Hathaway is the type of woman you go to war for,” one fan posted. Another user wrote, “Anne Hathaway is stunning at the Super Bowl! She is excited to see herself on the big screen! Maybe she doesn’t realize how big of a star she is!”
“The 5 seconds of Anne Hathaway have been the best part of the Super Bowl,” another tweet read. One particularly devoted admirer added, “The Super Bowl occurred? Don’t care, but my God, Anne Hathaway, she’s the definition of a fallen angel god sent down from the heavens, I love her.”

Hathaway’s passionate display may have surprised some, but her NFL allegiance has roots in Pennsylvania, as both of her parents attended school in the state. While she cheered for the Eagles this year, she previously expressed her love for the New York Giants during a 2015 appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
When Fallon asked how the team was doing, Hathaway confidently responded, “We’re doing fine. You know what this season reminds me of? It reminds me of the 2007 season when we started 0 and 2 and ended up with a ring.”
She humorously put the Giants’ fate in the hands of longtime quarterback Eli Manning, adding, “Take it home, buddy.”
Hathaway’s Super Bowl moment follows her recent viral post poking fun at Succession star Jeremy Strong. In January, she joined social media users in playfully roasting Strong’s bold fashion choice at the 2025 Golden Globes, where he wore a teal velvet suit with a matching bucket hat.
The actress took to Instagram to compare Strong’s outfit to a look she wore in The Princess Diaries (2001), posting a side-by-side image and joking, “Sweetheart, I’m not mad you borrowed it, but I didn’t totally realize you were going to change the col… anyway, not important, congrats on your well-deserved nom for The Apprentice!!!”
With her Super Bowl enthusiasm and social media humor, Hathaway continues to prove that she can effortlessly capture the internet’s attention—even in a stadium filled with football legends and A-list celebrities.
