For José Carlos Montoya, heartbreak on La Isla de las Tentaciones—Spain’s version of Temptation Island—has become an all-too-familiar experience. After already suffering public humiliation when his girlfriend, Anita Williams, cheated on him earlier this season, Montoya has now been betrayed for the third time, reigniting the viral “Montoya, por favor!” meme across social media.
The reality series, known for testing relationships by separating couples into villas filled with tempting singles, has turned into a nightmare for Montoya. Despite already witnessing Anita’s infamous tryst with housemate Manuel, he was forced to watch yet another shocking moment as she once again strayed—this time in an even more public and humiliating fashion.

The latest betrayal sent X (formerly Twitter) into a frenzy, with fans reacting in disbelief at how Montoya has continued to endure Anita’s repeated infidelities. One viral post perfectly captured the sentiment, featuring a meme comparing Montoya’s experience to being trapped in a cycle of emotional torture:
“This is how the producers be making Montoya watch his girl get obliterated.”

The post was accompanied by a clip of someone being force-fed a brutal reality, humorously likening the painful bonfire ceremonies—where contestants are forced to watch their partners’ actions—to psychological torment.
Despite the overwhelming support for Montoya online, Anita’s response to being caught lacked any real remorse, only fueling the backlash against her. Instead of offering an emotional apology, she attempted to deflect blame, leaving fans furious at her dismissive attitude.
Anita’s third cheating scandal follows the couple’s already tumultuous journey this season. During an earlier bonfire, Montoya had seen footage of Anita kissing Manuel in a pool, leading him to tear off his shirt and yell in frustration. In retaliation, he received a lap dance from Gabriella, which Anita later claimed was the reason she escalated her relationship with Manuel.
However, after yet another betrayal, viewers are no longer buying her excuses. The latest episode has only cemented Montoya’s status as the ultimate reality TV victim, with social media turning him into a symbol of loyalty gone unrewarded.
“Montoya needs a Grammy for this performance,” one user joked, referencing his dramatic reactions. “Bro is going through the worst reality TV experience of all time.”
Despite the chaos, Montoya has remained vocal about his experience. Speaking on the show’s aftershow, he admitted, “I entered ‘Temptation Island’ to gain security, and seeing your partner break was heartbreaking.”
With the season still unfolding, fans are left wondering if Montoya will finally walk away from Anita for good—or if there’s still another heartbreaking plot twist in store.
